Downtown Daytona Beach Farmers Market Has A Musical Element

Every Saturday from 7 AM to 1 PM on City Island Park, adjacent to Daytona Beach’s Jackie Robinson Ballpark, is an outdoor Farmers Market. There is an interesting mix of vendors, including my favorite smoothie maker and his wife, Omar and Camille Brown, who bring their family to the market. MidTownEcoVillage.org.

Most Saturdays are relatively quite, but on 8 June 2013, I heard a pan flute a couple of tents down and went to see who was playing. It turned out one of the regular vendors, Sunshine Produce from Palm Coast, had brought along AMARU to provide some music. AmaruAmerica.com

Adjacent to Omar’s Midtown EcoVillage Smoothies was Sweets by Bunny. There, among the cookies and cakes was sitarist Rick de Yampert, (rickdeyampert.com) who was showing a couple of children how a sitar sounds. I asked Rick to play a few minutes with AMARU for the soundtrack of the video I was making to promote the Farmers Market.
