The 50th edition of the Halifax Art Festival attracted more than 30,000 people and 230 artists. Net proceeds benefit the Museum of Arts and Sciences.
Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the Halifax Art Festival is the 2nd oldest continual art festival in the state of Florida. The festival attracts approximately 30,000 visitors to view the works of over 200 fine artists and artisans from all over the country. Offering live entertainment, a student art competition, children’s activities, fine dining in many local restaurants and cafes, HAF is a premier annual event in Central Florida.

One of Orlando’s top rock bands, Gunner Down, materialized on Beach Street for a Halloween performance. Unfortunately, Sandy scared a lot of people away, so the street wasn’t crowded.
But the band played on!
I don’t think they could have been any better, although the energy from a rock audience often times can push a band a little further. The sound was crisp. The vocal range was impressive. Guitars soared. Drums pounded. Bass thumped. Those in attendance were pumped.

I look forward to hearing them again. They brought back partial memories from the 70s and 80s. Maybe then next time I’ll remember a little more.
